Missoula Cultural Council

New Year's Eve with First Night Missoula is filled with theater, dance, artists, poetry readings, comedy, music, food, and family entertainment.

The Missoula Cultural Council is excited to be celebrating 20 years of service to Missoula. Along with producing the First Night celebrations for the last 18 years the MCC also serves as advocates for public and private arts and cultural activities. We encourage collaborative efforts among local art organizations; educate community leaders and policy makers about the economic benefits of the arts. The MCC also celebrates the value of diverse cultures and helping our community understand its place in the world.

Admission Buttons

Admission buttons are $12 in advance ($15 on December 31), with children ages 7 and under free, and will be available at 20 locations throughout Missoula and in the Bitterroot Valley each December.

Subway, Cherry Creek Radio and the Flagship Program have teamed up with the Missoula Cultural Council to produce the 5th annual First Night Idol contest!

Starting in late November, Missoula area high schools will be hosting preliminary rounds of this entertaining competition made popular by the TV show “American Idol.”

The final round of the competition will be held in the Historic Wilma Theater on December 31, 2011 during the First Night celebration All interested high school singers are encouraged to contact their Flagship representative or the Missoula Cultural Council to register.
